We buy out-of-print books in very good condition from single copies to entire collections, with particular interest in signed, first edition, rare, collectable and antiquarian books. For larger collections, we travel to private homes, libraries and other institutions throughout the Midlands and beyond in order to pick up donations or agreed sales.
Ways to Donate or Sell to Daker Books
Donations
If you’re looking to make space by moving books on to their next home without throwing them away, simply drop them off at the bookshop at any time during opening hours. Please note that the books must be out-of-print and in at least very good condition. We give 25% of the sales of these books to charity each month.
Sales
If you’re looking to sell more than 10 books, please email us some photographs and we’ll be in touch. For up to 10 books, please email or telephone us to schedule an appointment for us to look at the books in the shop, without having to send photographs.
Valuations
We can value books through dedicated research and collation. We charge 10% of the established value, whether the book goes on to be sold privately or to be bought by Daker Books in a separate transaction. Please email via our contact form or telephone 0116 279 1121 to discuss this option.
