The Gaucho Martin Fierro Synopsis
Martín Fierro is an impoverished Gaucho who has been drafted to serve at a border fort, defending the Argentine inner frontier against the native people. He deserts and discovers that his house, farm, and family are gone. He provokes a knife duel, killing a man. He becomes an outlaw pursued by the police. He acquires a companion, Sergeant Cruz, and the two set out to find a better life.
