Design Classic: 1880-1930 Synopsis
This book illustrates the earliest pioneers of twentieth-century design, who devoted their time to creating what is now known as ‘Avantgarde design’. It covers over 200 original pieces from the collection of Dusseldorf art dealer and collector Torsten Brohan.
About Torsten Bröhan
In the early 1980s, Torsten Bröhan founded a gallery in Düsseldorf, in which he exhibited twentieth-century design objects as well as art. He has also been publishing books since the 1990s, with Modern Glass Art, Design Classics 1880-1930, and Avantgarde Design becoming bestsellers.
He founded the Bröhan Design Foundation in Berlin in 2005, and the Bröhan Institute for Design Documentation in 2017.
